DADIA-LEFKIMI-SOUFLI NATIONAL PARK FOREST

It is located at the southeastern tip of the Rhodope mountain range in the Evros Prefecture, at the crossroads of two continents and is the geophysical space where many species of flora and fauna of the Balkan Peninsula, Asia and Europe thrive together.

It is one of the few areas in Europe where so many different species of birds of prey coexist and where three of the four species of vultures (black vulture, griffon vulture, Egyptian vulture) of Europe are found at the same time.

The old-growth forests, the rocky outcrops, the meadows and fields scattered within the forest and the many streams with rich riparian vegetation offer a multitude of suitable habitats for nesting and foraging for many different species.

Through the trails of the Dadia - Lefkimi - Soufli National Forest Park, you will be given the opportunity to discover the secrets of the forest up close and enjoy magnificent landscapes. The trails differ in difficulty level, travel time and points of interest.

An Information Center operates in the National Forest with the aim of promoting the protection of nature in the area, its ecotourism promotion, as well as informing and raising public awareness about the ecological values of the Dadia Forest.

It operates on a daily basis (including weekends and holidays), from 8:00 to 16:00. Within the Center there is an exhibition area with photographic and informative material about the protected area.
